Poverty By Taxes

With President Obama issuing his new budget, people all across America are outraged. Why? Taxes! The Big O just doesn't get it. Taxing the wealthy in order to feed his government programs and entitlements, is INSANITY.

So, what is "Poverty By Taxes?"

Take a second and think about it.

Now, while America will never die, based on the Founding Principles, poverty by taxes will certainly diminish its value.

How's that, you say?

1. President Obama wants to tax what he calls "the rich."
2. If the rich are over-taxed, they can't afford to pay their people.
3. If people don't get paid well, they can't save and start their own business.
4. If these businesses don't start, small businesses can't CREATE new jobs.
5. Without NEW jobs, the unemployed people then increase the level of poverty in America.

You see, with these five simple steps, we went from high taxes on the wealthy to a nation of poverty. This is not all there is, but it is a more simplified approach to looking at it.

Increasing taxes puts a strain on not only small business, but big business also. With President Obama implementing a tax hike, it does not create a place for business growth. It creates a place for insanity.

It is time that concerned Americans stand up and speak out saying, "We Surround Them."

North Korea Missile Test, An International Crisis

North Korea is planning to test a missile, within the next three weeks, that is capable of reaching the continental United States. The Taepodong 2 missile is also capable of carrying nuclear weapons.

The last time the Taepodong 2 was tested, in 2006, it fell into the ocean shortly upon launch. For North Korea, this test would mark a milestone if successfully carried out as it has never achieved its maximum range, let alone be successfully tested.

A senior US Defense official, reported to FOX News, “They appear to be serious. This is no bluff.” Also saying, “It could look like an attack on the US, but it won't be.”

Serious or not, The US Navy is taking them seriously as they have put their Aegis radar anti-missile defense system on alert. Their intelligence is seeing the North Koreans move components for the missile launch into place over recent days in North East Korea.

This may seem as a publicity stunt to some, even as a US analyst reports the North Koreans seem to have noticed the world's response, or lack there of, to the recent launch of an Iranian satellite – and wanting to “join the club.”

This is a serious matter, either way you look at it. The US Administration will be sure to keep their eyes on it, as well as the Navy will be watching and waiting for the cue to intercept the missiles.

We Surround Them, Glenn Beck's Call To Serve

Recently, Glenn Beck posed a question that isn't so alarming in itself, but it was posed to see just how alarmed Americans are and how willing they are to act and be heard.

Do you watch the direction that America is being taken in and feel powerless to stop it?

That is one of the problems that plagues many people, in that they do feel powerless. They feel that their voice will never be heard, and that their country is being stolen from them. They feel that there is nothing they can do about it.

Glenn Beck, like many people, feels the same way. That is why he asked this question. But, you see, that isn't all. He wants to do something about it. He wants to know from the people what they think. So, he came up with what he calls “The Nine Principles.”

1.America is good.
2.I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3.I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4.The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5.If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6.I have a right to Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7.I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8.It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9.The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

Then he asked that if you agree with at least seven of these principles, then he wants you to know that you are not alone. And that you should send a digital version of your picture to: wesurroundthem@foxnews.com and that you should stay tuned during the upcoming weeks to see how he intends to pull back the curtain.

Well, that was just the first step. Step two was to introduce what Glenn refers to as “The Twelve Values.”

1.Honesty
2.Reverence
3.Hope
4.Thrift
5.Humility
6.Charity
7.Sincerity
8.Moderation
9.Hard Work
10.Courage
11.Personal Responsibility
12.Friendship

Right he was that you should stay tuned. Hard to tell what Beck has in store for the next step.

It isn't enough to list out these principles and values, just in the hopes of creating a stir. These principles and values encompass what being a conservative is. These fit into each other, not only for the sake of right now, but as history is understood in the founding documents of America. These principles and virtues have helped shape this nation, or for some the lack there of.

In Common Sense, Thomas Paine says, “The elected might never form to themselves an interest separate from the electors.” Trying as it sounds, that is where our nation has been led over the past days, weeks, months if not years. Those elected are seamlessly operating for the benefit of themselves and themselves only, while the electors are screaming to be heard.

Thomas Paine also said, “The strength of government depends on the happiness of the governed.” And how true that is, not only for his time, but for ours too. Our time shapes tomorrows time, and with the unhappiness of today, it doesn't look all that hopeful based on all the displeasure. Americans are growing more and more frustrated, and are continuing to distance themselves from the elected.

So, if you agree with the principles and values spoke of by Glenn Beck, and are one of those who are frustrated, then accept Beck's call to serve and send a digital version of your picture to wesurroundthem@foxnews.com in care of www.thestaffordvoice.com. If you are not completely comfortable with that, feel free to send them to me at daniel@thestaffordvoice.com and I will be sure to they get to him.

The Great Race Divide

Much has been said about race relations, with many hoping that the issue has been subsided, only to come to a realization that it is still much an issue as it always has. Many would argue that there is no right reason as to why it is still an issue. Others, are still left living, breathing and feeling the issue.

For those left wondering why, time will only tell. After all, those who still feel the effects, say that time is the only thing that will help. Historically speaking, race has long been an issue and will always continue as some look to it as an excuse. Saying that there isn't a proper level of equality, whether it be educational or in a professional setting.

Thomas Paine says, in Common Sense, that "time makes more converts than reason." However, it is reason that may help convert more before time. With reason, we are able to draw conclusions with critical thinking before allowing time to take its course. More important, example has more followers than reason.

Example just may be the tool needed to display reason in order to speed up time. For if it is still accepted to speak negatively, even in something that is thought of as nothing like music, the negative effects of example will grab hold and the ideals of progression will never grab hold. Another term that may be acceptable in place of example would be influence. Some level of influence must be displayed.

The best way to influence at times, is by the bottom up approach. Letting things trickle down, in times of today, haven't worked so well. If the younger generations influence the older generations, their example would do more than simply speed time up, but could stop it in a way.

How would it stop? Simple. By allowing a trickle up approach - all be it if everyone changed- would offer an end to the great race divide that has separated this country for years upon years. After all, it is today youngest generation that will be around for tomorrows youngest generation.
