Terrorists Attack Luxury Pakistani Hotel

A week after Taliban leaders warned of coming attacks in populated cities, terrorists blast the Pearl Continental Hotel in Peshawar, Pakistan. Striking at 10 p.m., the suicide bombers hit while the nightlife is still awake killing at least 11 people and injuring some 70 plus others.

While no one has yet to stake claim of the terrorist act, many claim Taliban responsibility.

The BBC reports witnesses state that three men in a truck approached the main gate and opened fire before pressing through the gate only to blow up when getting close enough to the hotel.

Shafqatullah Malik, a senior police officer, estimates the bomb had more than half a ton of explosives.

The UN secretary-general, Ban Ki-Moon condemned "in the strongest possible terms today's terrorist attack."
