Afghanistan The Next Vietnam

The conflict in Afghanistan has proven more difficult to fight recently, even with an increase of American troops. Which has been a cause for conflict among some. For others, they are left wondering whether or not we learned from history, or if we are permitting it to repeat itself.

It is well known that President Barack Obama was in total opposition of the troop surge in Iraq, as well as opposing the republican lead war. Most would agree that it was a war fought along political party lines. Most democrats were against the war in Iraq while republicans were supportive. There is no secret that party officials oppose the other side when it comes to war, unless they are the one leading the effort.

In Vietnam, America was lead to war by a democratic president with opposition coming from the republican party. By the time things began taking a turn for the worst, a republican had taken office and the streets were filled with protesters. They protested everything from the amount of troops that were dying to that it was an unnecessary war.

Either way you look at it, the arguments made a point. There was a large amount of casualties, and it did seem that it was an unnecessary war. Unnecessary in the fact that there seemed to be no true plan. The war wasn't fought with a clear idea as to what the outcome would be. For many, this rings so true today with the ongoing war in Afghanistan.

With things taking course in Afghanistan, it seems that the Vietnam effect is in true form. It also seems that some history seems to be repeating itself along party lines. A war started by a republican administration, and taken over by a democratic administration has proven to be a challenge. In the start, it was obvious there was opposition with entering Afghanistan. However, things changed once the Obama Administration took charge. With a heavy focus on a draw-down of troop levels in Iraq, there was no sign that there would be an increase of troops in Afghanistan. Since the current administration took over, troop levels have doubled in size and there has been an influx of casualties.

The Vietnam effect doesn't stop there. As in the past, the administration has no real objective. There has been no real objective other than to get the elusive Osama bin Laden. Is the objective to place a centralized government into operation? If so, then the effort is useless. History has shown that the Afghan people reject this proposal. They have never had a centralized government like what is practiced in America, and it appears as though they never will.

In the '80's, Russia made a serious attempt to change the way Afghanistan runs itself. As then, things are proving to be more difficult than expected. However, Mikhail Gorbachev, then Russian leader, was accepting to the fact that they would ultimately not win the engagement. Something the Obama administration seems unwilling to accept, defeat.

Gorbachev, and his administration, saw the course and withdrew his troops from a decade of fighting. American troops have been in the region for almost the same time, however they will soon see an infusion of more troops. As in Vietnam, when things seemed against America, efforts were increased. Only to later be withdrawn in haste.

Vietnam was a heavy burden on America that caused a huge political divide. The conflict in Afghanistan seems to be taking the same course. Facing a political divide, and a huge deficit, the war is taking a turn for the worse. Public opinion is not as divided, but the majority is now against the effort. Deficits amount on an already bankrupt nation. Troop levels are on the rise, as well as casualties.

The Obama administration is not willing to accept defeat, at any level. Things could only get worse before they get better. With the majority of the people against the war, and unfavorable poll numbers toward President Obama, many are left questioning what the administration will do next.

Cybersecurity Act of 2009 a Test in Presidential Power

If it isn't health care reform, it's something else. Now it comes in the form of the Cybersecurity Act of 2009, or S.773.

The controversy raised with this is that it gives the President control to shut down the internet if certain emergencies arise. On pages 43-44 of the 51 page bill states:

"The President - (2)may declare a cybersecurity emergency and order the limitation or shutdown of Internet traffic to and from any compromised Federal Government or United States critical infrastructure information system or network;"
Some will see this as a non-issue. Others feel that it is a total violation on their freedoms. Those who seem most bothered by it, feel the President is creating too much power.

However, the President is doing his hardest to stimulate the job market with anything and everything he can get his hands on. Yes, even with the Cybersecurity Act of 2009 he will try to create jobs. On page 41 the bill says:

"Within 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the President, or the President's designee, shall report to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation and the House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology of the feasibility of- (1)creating a market for cybersecurity risk management, including the creation of a system of civil liability and insurance (including government reinsurance)"
One decent thing in the bill overshadowed by the extended power of the President if this passes. While the debate over health care reform is still so rampant, there is great attention that should be paid to the other bills that surface during the debate.

Cash for Appliances and the New Green Agenda

Now that the government run Cash for Clunkers program has ended, the continuing push for the new green agenda will be in the form of a Cash for Appliances program.

While the government touts the cash for clunkers program as a success, with a reported 700,000 new vehicles sold, there seems to be an underlying plan with the Obama administration. A plan seemingly focused on furthering the green agenda, not only by removing thousands of gas-guzzling vehicles, but now with the introduction of removing energy-hogging household appliances.

Help would come in the form of rebates valued from $50-$200 from the Department of Energy that has already been approved for $300 million from the stimulus plan earlier this year. While you will hear that this will only help the economy, it's what they fail to tell you up front.

Those unsuspecting individuals that bought vehicles under the clunker program are only now finding out that their rebate will be taxed as taxable income.

However, the debate over the green agenda raises some concern with people. It's not the fact that everyone wants to waste energy, but more so that the government is stepping in and throwing so much money around. People are realizing the amount of wasteful spending and are getting frustrated.

First, it was the banks. Second, the auto industry. Third, the auto industry again. Billions of hard-working taxpayer money has been tossed at these faltering companies.

Two companies that seem to be doing quite well are the two appliance super-companies, Whirlpool and GE. Whirlpool is the leading company, while General Electric draws unwanted attention pulling them to the number two spot.

Unlike the auto industry, the top two appliance makers are American and look to be the top winners with this new program. Another reason Americans are a little upset with the cash for clunkers program was that American auto makers failed to make the top three autos sold under the program. First and second were filled by Toyota, third was Honda, fourth was Ford, and fifth was Hyundai.

General Motors and Chrysler were the two that could have benefited the most, but failed to make the grade again.

The positive side the the clunker program is that it did spawn traffic to dealerships, but there is fear surrounding dealers that the little traffic they do have will become stagnant. A similar feeling could be faced by appliance stores at the end this new program, and quite possibly before it even gets going.

Some are quick to see that some things are too good to be true, while others are slower at noticing.

Health Care Reform A 'Moral Obligation'

Today, President Obama worked at pitching health care reform with religious leaders in various communities of faith in a conference call.

With huge opposition, Obama turns to a group of religious leaders in an effort to rethink how to sell the proposed health care reform. President Obama claims the opposition is distracting the country from its "core ethical and moral obligation."

In his effort to sell his health care, Obama has teamed up with Fatih in Public Life. A group directly affiliated with ACORN.

They have started an enormous effort, 40 Days for Health Reform, to flood televisions with advertisements, prayer vigils, rallies, and also ministering debate in Sunday sermons.

The advertisements are produced by AKPD Message and Media, founded by White House senior strategist David Axelrod. The media firm looks to receive, along with GMMB, $12 million by Health Economy Now and Americans for Stable Quality Care, a coalition that includes PhRMA.

As the President thinks health care is a moral and ethical issue, many are in a stir as the line between the separation of church and state is severely questioned. Argument coming due to a conference call from President Obama to religious group leaders asking them to use their platform to further a political agenda.

Even more of a moral and ethical issue when many look at the bill as elderly genocide, or a way for the government to take over another industry and control more. For many, the issue isn't health care reform. It's health care control.

It seems to be the most talked about topic anywhere you turn. Health care this, townhall that. The problem for a lot of people is that they don't have time to get out and ask questions or visit townhall meetings. Or, they are in an area that is represented by someone who doesn't want to bother with all the drama.

Medvedev Statement To Ukrainian President

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev criticizes Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, claiming his policies have reached new lows.

Tuesday, Medvedev posted a new video blog about a letter sent to Yushchenko about concerns over relations between the two areas. Medevedev states that their relations have reached new "unprecedented lows."

This comes as Russia has removed its ambassador from the Ukraine and would not send its new ambassador, Mikhail Zurabov, until there are "positive dynamics" in bilateral relations.

Tension between Russia and Ukraine range over many issues, namely the recent re-arming of Georgia and their borders between South Ossetia and Abkhazia. August marks the one year anniversary of the territoral war where hundreds were killed and many people displaced.

Russia is making accusations that both the U.S. and the Ukraine are backing Georgia and its stance. "Delivery of weapons from the United States is continuing," stated Deputy Foreign Minister Grigori Karasin.

Cash For Clunkers; Wrong In So Many Ways

Some see the Cash For Clunkers program as a good thing, while others take time to read and understand what is happening.

On the outside, this plan seems like a winner for all who participate. Dealers, salvage yards, and soon-to-be new owners alike. Those looking to buy a new car or truck are given an incentive to go ahead with the purchase. New car dealers are glad to see their showrooms full of prospective buyers. Salvage yards are chopping at the bits to get their hands on the 'clunkers' to stock their shelves with parts.

The problem isn't always between the lines. Unassumingly, it is right in front of your face. For those looking to see of they qualify for the program, the CARS.gov website opens your computer to the government and becomes part of their computer system, for both foreign and domestic use. It is in plain sight when you are taken to the privacy act statement.

In between the lines, you will pay for the $3500 or $4500 'rebate.' Take a second and remember back when you got a 'check' in the mail only to later that year find out that you had to pay taxes on it. If it sounds to good to be true, it might be right? Those unsuspecting people will be faced with a large bill come tax time.

As stated in Department of Transportation Docket No. NHTSA-2009-0120, on the bottom of page 7 and continuing on the top of page 8, says: "The use of the term “rebate” in the name NHTSA has chosen for the program is not intended to have any effect on how CARS transactions are treated under State or federal tax laws. The CARS Act provides that the credit is not income to the purchaser, but does not address any other possible tax issues. NHTSA lacks expertise and authority in tax matters and makes no attempt here to provide any guidance on those matters."

Simple put, they don't know how to properly tax the individual. But, left to an already bankrupt Obama Administration, they know how to tax people. If they don't know how they will do it right now, they will figure it out by the time tax season hits.

With government officials already left to scramble on their inability to loosen the housing market, few are left to wonder if this will be the final straw to the next collapse. Foreclosures were first, could repossessions be next?

Bill Clinton Visits North Korea

In a surprise trip to North Korea, former President Bill Clinton visited Kim Jong Il in an attempt to bring home Laura Ling and Euna Lee, two American journalists being detained.


Touted by many as an 'international rock-star,' Clinton was the choice in thise secret mission. Okayed by the Obama Administration, his visit is important in so many ways.

Not only to bring home the two American Current TV journalists, Clinton's visit is a testing ground to dialogue on numerous future talks between North Korea and the United States. Nuclear disarmament would be among the biggest concern.

Clinton's reception was greeted warmly, with the two talking over dinner.

However, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said, "I think we're obviously talking about something that's extremely sensitive."

Gibbs also stated, "We will have more to say on this hopefully later on."

ObamaCare Seen Offensive by Some

As more and more people read their way through HR 3200, the health care reform bill, the more scrutinizing it undergoes. Off the start it has been offensive to the young and old alike. Now, it is seen offensive by those who are intellectually challenged.

The term written into the bill is mentally retarded, and many people have taken offense to the term. This leaves many to ask it's political correctness.

As it is widely accepted by many medical professionals, it is those that it represents that are left asking, "Why not choose a better term?"

In search of a politically correct term for mentally retarded, medical professionals throughout, accept the term as correct. Others challenge the term as to the context in which it is used, while some are left along the sidelines arguing among themselves as to which term is more correct than the other.

Contextually speaking, here is how it is written on pages 389-390:

"CERTAIN OTHER INDIVIDUALS. -- In the case of an individual who is a full-benefit dual eligible individual and with respect to whom there has been a determination that but for the provision of home and community based care (whether under section 1915, 1932, or under a waiver under section 1115) the individual would require the level of care provided in a hospital or a nursing facility or intermediate care facility for the mentally retarded the cost of which could be reimbursed under the State plan under title XIX, the elimination of any beneficiary coinsurance described in section 1860D-2(b)(2) (for all amounts through the total amount of expenditures at which benefits are available under section 1860D–2(b)(4)).".

With that, it still leaves many asking, "Is that the best term to use?" While many are not challenged with this disability, those that are diagnosed with or know someone who has been diagnosed with are among the ones offended. It also leaves the question open that, "If there are so many politically correct terms to use, is this the best term to cover the widest array of individuals?"

With a little more time on hand, answers to these questions, and many more, may be either answered or re-written as it appears that neither Congress or the Senate will have enough time to pass HR 3200 before they go to recess.

Obama Health Care Reform or Elderly Genocide

Spanning all media outlets, President Obama's health care reform plan, H.R. 3200, is being dissected left and right. One person, Betsy McCaughey raises a largely controversial topic not being talked about by many.

Betsy claims to have read the entire 1000+ pages, not once but twice. A claim that most, if not all in Congress or the Senate can say they have read it once.

McCaughey raises the notion that in the highly debated reform, the elderly are silently attacked. On pages 425 through 430, a strategic mission to clear elderly comes in a simple idea of government aided death. A term that could be called Elderly Genocide.

In the bill it is read another way, "Advance Care Planning Consultation." The term basically means that when you are classed as elderly, you will be required to consult with a/your practitioner. Within the consultation, the practitioner must explain "key questions and considerations, important steps, and suggested people to talk to." Also, "an explanation by the practitioner of advance directives, including living wills and durable powers of attorney, and their uses."

All of that is great when it comes to knowing and understanding important issues. However, when you do become classed as elderly, it is very important to know and understand that your care will be VERY limited and controlled by the State. The question of whether you live or die then becomes debated by a group of practitioners appointed by the State. You no longer have the choice to fight for your life or not, thus we have Elderly Genocide.

Even if you are allowed to fight, if deemed so by the practitioners, everything is run through a review by other health professionals who will then sign off, along with a FULL explanation of their decision. It isn't until then that the level of treatment comes into play, which is also highly rationed. "The use of antibiotics, and the use of artificially administered nutrition and hydration," is just a taste as to what you could or couldn't expect. After all, with this Elderly Genocide you don't have the choice of life.

Even if you are expected to die by a terminal illness, YOU don't get the choice. YOU don't even get the choice to die without pain.

I have talked about this but only once before, but five years ago my mother passed away of breast cancer that migrated into her bones. Her struggle went on for a total of nine years. Doctors were permitted to perform many, many tests and actions to either help aid in the removal of the cancers or the removal of her pain. It is my personal fear that under the health care reform plan President Obama is attempting to rush through, would not allow these freedoms for anyone given a difficult test to life.

Lately, there is a lot of buzz swarming the air, both radio and television, about czar this and czar that. This is not a history lesson about the word czar. It is a list of those who have been appointed to positions that hold Obama's czar title. Who they are, and what qualifies them to hold the position or not.


Please keep in mind that the majority of the information provided here is from their bios on Wikipedia. It is not an in depth analysis of each czar, but just a few interesting facts.

Determine for yourself if these are who you want making decisions in the area they are responsible for.

He acted as the senior White House negotiator at the Kyoto Protocol, which aims at controling greenhouse gases.

Well, there you have it. Who they are, and what qualifications they have, or don't have, to handle their appointed positions.

If you ask, many people would be alarmed as to how UNqualified the majority of these appointees are, let alone why we need some of them anyways. However, when you really think about it. This could be the sort of job creation President Obama has promised.

What's more scary is that he may not be done creating Czar positions.

Obama's Health Plan Organization Chart

With so many people in Washington D.C. trying to push through President Obama's health care plan, the talking heads decided to take the time to make what they call the "Organizational Chart of the House Democrat's Health Plan."

As with most anything that comes out of Washington, confusion sets in when trying to figure out the chart. By the looks of it, President Obama may need to look for a Flow Chart Czar to analyze and report on it.

Taxation with Obama as Representation

Lately, there have been many peaceful groups of people displaying their displeasure with the Obama administration, and the obvious direction in which he is taking this country. With the heaping amounts of legislation he has pushed through under the cover of darkness, large amounts of people are left wondering how all of it will be paid for. With enormous amounts of money borrowed for bailouts, stimulus payouts, big-business prop-ups, and one-for-all health care; who could blame them?

So, the number one question seems to be: How will this all be paid for? Is it not obvious? TAXES! But, President Obama ran his campaign on the notion of not raising taxes, but giving tax breaks. So, how can the Obama administration give tax breaks, but still pay off his 'inherited' debt? TAXES!

The Kansas City Star recently posted an article about a new way to tax citizens. Coming by way, not of a fuel consumption tax, but by way a by-the-mile tax.

The University of Iowa has been field testing a device, monitored by a Global Positioning System (GPS), that tracks how many miles you drive. With the aid of a $16 million federal grant, the University of Iowa have ironed out enough wrinkles to the point that they are beginning to send out 'simulated' monthly tax bills.

What about all the 'green' vehicles and 'green' standards being forced down the throats of the auto-makers? Take for instance the little electric things that will soon flood the highways. They don't use fuel in the form of gas, so the government must collect theirs some way. And this is just the way they plan to do so.

What about other ways to collect tax money? In desperate times, many call for desperate measures, which could help push the idea to tax Internet purchases.

All of this comes as the Obama administration will soon search for, and be on the look-out, for new and less exciting ways to collect taxes when they promised they wouldn't raise them. It may be true that they won't raise them, but over-taxation will soon consume the pay-out column on your check.

Standing the tests of time to date, the Declaration of Independence continues to invoke a certain passion in the people of America.

Ask someone to start reciting, and they start with, "We hole these truths to be . . ." As important as it is to know what the Declaration of Independence is, it is equally important to know how it truely starts out. That is where the document reaches its climax, and drives home an intimate sense of passion.

"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the Powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."

So, when you sit down at the table and start passing around the ribs and baked beans, take an extra second to think about what the Fourth of July is, a cause for celebration.

North Korea Fires Two Short-Range Missiles

South Korean news agencies are reporting breaking news of North Korea testing two short-range missiles off its eastern coast.

Yonhap News Agency of Seoul, South Korea is reporting that North Korea fired two ground-to-ship short-range missiles off their eastern coast.

South Korean defense ministry spokesman Won Tae-jae said, "One was fired at 5:20 p.m. and the other at 6:00 p.m. from Sinsang-ni."

BRIC Group Unite, New Currency Needed

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, speaking for the BRIC group on Tuesday, said that there needs to be a new reserve currency. Having made mention of this idea in previous statements, choosing to do it in a much larger capacity has a greater impact to further the agenda.

Hosting four of the largest emerging economies, the BRIC group, Brazil, Russia, India and China, announcing that a new reserve currency is needed undermines the ability of America continuing the superpower legacy.

For countries to unite and denounce the power and strength of the dollar, is an under-the-table attack at the world's superpower, the United States.

Some may argue that it is time to "de-value" the dollor on a global scale. After all, China is funding the largest portion of the debt of the US. China also claims some $2 trillion dollars in reserves.

The three other countries of BRIC, have also shown their worth in todays growing global economy.

North Korea Flirts With Danger

For the past few months, North Korea has defied all, and chose to flirt with danger. They have tested short-range missles, long-range missles, and most of all, nuclear weapons. So what could be made from this?

First things first, Kim Jong-il will fnd any way to flex them ancient issue muscles of his any which way he can. Some may see his flexing as a way to sell his technology to other countries, such as Iran. Who would have ever thought that one could use the nightly news as a way to deliver their infomercial pitch?

Another way to flex those shrivled-up masses could be viewed to pave the way for his successor, Kim Jong-Un. If this was the case, it would set up Jong-Un to continue the regime of terror, without any hope for reform. Reform so desperately needed by the people of North Korea.

With all of that being said, what is the next step for the suffering people of North Korea? The mass of weight would fall on China to pressure the unstable regime in North Korea. How do we do that? Excellent question considering we are at the mercy of China ourselves. We screwed ourselves when we got on our knees to China and asked for trillions of dollars to bail out the nation. It seems that all we can do is sit back and watch.

But what about those who say we should strategically shoot down certain sites and missles in North Korea? Does that really sound all that smart? Cause more turmoil in an already suffering peninsula? Wouldn't it just be easier to shoot our own feet?

In reality, it seems that the only real hope for the people of North Korea would be in Kim Jong-Un. He must be the one to change the course. He must be the one to help his people.

Terrorists Attack Luxury Pakistani Hotel

A week after Taliban leaders warned of coming attacks in populated cities, terrorists blast the Pearl Continental Hotel in Peshawar, Pakistan. Striking at 10 p.m., the suicide bombers hit while the nightlife is still awake killing at least 11 people and injuring some 70 plus others.

While no one has yet to stake claim of the terrorist act, many claim Taliban responsibility.

The BBC reports witnesses state that three men in a truck approached the main gate and opened fire before pressing through the gate only to blow up when getting close enough to the hotel.

Shafqatullah Malik, a senior police officer, estimates the bomb had more than half a ton of explosives.

The UN secretary-general, Ban Ki-Moon condemned "in the strongest possible terms today's terrorist attack."

Faith and the Founding of America

In his Farewell Address, President George Washington said: “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.”

The political prosperity which Americans have long endured have come by way of intense morality lead by Reason. And, for many, this endurance was tested by their Faith. A faith that shared the understanding of an Almighty.

In many, this is where America has gone wrong. Americans are drifting away from its basic Foundation and the principles that this country were founded upon. This is also supported with the Pledge of Allegiance:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

A republic that stands where the People, from among themselves, freely elect representatives to make laws for them. A nation under God – whatever Being you choose Him to be – in which you are free to believe in and have faith in your Almighty.

And it is the Almighty who accepted this land, and chose this nation to prosper and flourish by His grace. A grace so dignified when “in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world,” they came together and agreed that “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

As you see, right at its beginning, this nation formed a covenant with God which is repeated in the Declaration: “with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence.” And with the protection of a Divine Providence, this nation has endured a Freedom that was, and is endowed by its Creator.

That is what separates America from other nations, our Divine freedom. However, precious as it is, our freedom is always tested. As President Lincoln said at Gettysburg that we are “testing whether this nation can long endure.” Endure as it may be when Thomas Paine, in The Crisis, saying: “These are the times that try men's souls.”

Right now, that is our test of today. Our souls are tried more than ever before, as well as our country. In direction to his men at Lexington, Joseph Warren said, “Our country is in danger now, but not to be despaired of . On you depend the fortunes of America. You are to decide the important questions upon which rest the happiness and the liberty of millions not yet born. Act worthy of yourselves.”

That we must do. The fortunes of the future of America do depend upon us. We the People, must act accordingly to restore the foundation of this great nation, as it has begun to develop some heavy cracks. Some of those cracks are within the representatives that were elected, but the majority of these cracks are within us and the deterioration of the Founding Faith of America.

So, we must, as President Thomas Jefferson said in his first inaugural address, “Let us, then, fellow-citizens, unite with one heart and one mind. Let us restore to social intercourse that harmony and affection without which liberty and even life itself but dreary things. And let us reflect that, having banished from our land that religious intolerance under which mankind so long bled and suffered,we have yet gained little if we countenance a political intolerance as despotic, as wicked, and capable of as bitter and bloody persecutions.”

It is time for us to unite, and set apart our differences of a Divine Providence, and further understand that this country was founded upon the idea of all Faiths, in unity, for the progression of the freedom loving society.

North Korea Talks Of Possible War

North Korea has placed their troops on standby with a threat of “a war” if either Japan or the US shoots down what many to believe to be a test-fire of a long-range missile.

As the US and South Korean troops kicked off their annual war games, this latest threat comes as no warning but more as a directive. This latest threat comes a week after Pyongyang made threats to South Korean passenger planes that would fly near its airspace.

Both, US and Japanese officials, have suggested they could shoot down the North Korean missiles if necessary. This comes as the North says that they will be pressing forward on plans to send a communications satellite into space. This launch is one that many feel is a cover for a long-range missile, capable of reaching Alaska.

“Shooting our satellite for peaceful purposes will precisely mean a war,” reports Korean Central News Agency in a statement by the general staff of the North's military.

Also, North Korean military personnel have been ordered to be “fully combat ready.”

Analysts say that the test-fire, whether it be a satellite launch or a missile, could occur either late this month or early in April.

Iran Test Fires New Air-to-Surface Missile

Iranian media reports that Iran test fired a new missile that is said to be designed for use by military aircraft aimed at naval targets.

Why would Iran want a missile designed specifically for naval targets?

They want to protect their interests in the Strait of Hormuz, the waterway between the Sea of Oman and the Gulf. Forty percent of the world's traded oil is shipped through this area.

Being that Israel is believed to be the only nuclear-armed Middle Eastern state, and Iran now attempting to power their nation with nuclear energy, this raises a certain level of alarm. A level of alarm that many ponder the idea that Iran is secretly using this as a way to arm their country as a nuclear-armed one.

Israel has much to fear in that Iran has been very open with their position on Israel and eliminating it all together. Certainly fears are brought to a closer reality with this new missile.

The new Iranian air-to-surface missile has a range of 70 miles (110 km). This type of delivery with a range of this degree, would make it easier to attack threats to their distribution of gas and crude oil.

This may be seen as necessary by the Iranian government if the United States was to follow along with its long time support of Israel. And with a top Iranian military commander saying that Iranian missiles are now within reach of Israeli nuclear sites, it raises a significant level of threat within the area.

Iran has said before that they could reach Israel before, but never signaling such specific targets.

Chavez Tells Obama To Join The Path To Socialism

Not one to hold back with opinion, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez recommends to President Barack Obama that socialism is "the only road."

Also stating that Americas "capitalist model and its pervers values have failed," Chavez says, "Imagine a socialist revolution in the US. Nothing is impossible."

Right as to how nothing is impossible, the fact that a socialist revolution in the US is absurd. The people would not stand for it, as well as the Constitution does not support that type of regime.

"It's regrettable that crisis that the US is living through. Millions of workers are being left in the street, thousands of companies are colosing, in the US there isn't a single new infrastructure project. Go look for a highway there, the coutry has gone bust."

However, Chavez may have missed the fact that the Obama Administration just okayed trillions of dollars in just these types of "projects" to stimulate the economy and to save a few jobs.

On the bright side of things, the employment rate in the US is at a stagering 91.9%!

President Obama's Dyslexia and the Faith of a Nation

Americans look to its leaders with Faith for direction and guidance, but when the leader of leaders, President Barack Obama, is slightly dyslexic about history and what to do, the Faith of a nation dwindles and hangs in the balance.

So, just what has gone wrong with President Obama? Has our Commander in Chief gone dyslexic?

Certainly his views and ideas – as socialistic as they seem – are what would raise the question if he is dyslexic. How could one derive that allegation?

JFK said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”

What has Obama shown us? He has shown us that you don't have to do anything for your country, other that to speak about it, but rather it is what your country can do for you. He has shown that as businesses continue to operate in a failing manner, the country will prop them up with bailout after bailout which will further bankrupt America.

Need another example?

FDR says that, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”

As a country which is strong in Faith, and has faith written into its history, Americans look forward to positive prosperity, and not the fear of failure. Barack Obama looks at failure, and even plans for it. Proof positive when taking a look at his recent budget when he wrote in $700+ billion for another bank bailout.

Ridiculous as it may sound, this may be what binds Americans back together and stronger than ever. Never has the fate of America been tested as it is being tested now. Even looking to the Great Depression, it brought families closer and put a nation together again.

The rhetoric of change and hope and hope and change played on too many people and their fears. America fears nothing, save for the diminishing of the Nation itself. America, and the people there of, will right the recent wrongs and place itself in a more prosperous position. America will not fail, but some of the leaders may.

Poverty By Taxes

With President Obama issuing his new budget, people all across America are outraged. Why? Taxes! The Big O just doesn't get it. Taxing the wealthy in order to feed his government programs and entitlements, is INSANITY.

So, what is "Poverty By Taxes?"

Take a second and think about it.

Now, while America will never die, based on the Founding Principles, poverty by taxes will certainly diminish its value.

How's that, you say?

1. President Obama wants to tax what he calls "the rich."
2. If the rich are over-taxed, they can't afford to pay their people.
3. If people don't get paid well, they can't save and start their own business.
4. If these businesses don't start, small businesses can't CREATE new jobs.
5. Without NEW jobs, the unemployed people then increase the level of poverty in America.

You see, with these five simple steps, we went from high taxes on the wealthy to a nation of poverty. This is not all there is, but it is a more simplified approach to looking at it.

Increasing taxes puts a strain on not only small business, but big business also. With President Obama implementing a tax hike, it does not create a place for business growth. It creates a place for insanity.

It is time that concerned Americans stand up and speak out saying, "We Surround Them."

Starts out address with trying to scare people and follows it up with "hope."

Says country has to pull together and show responsibility. The government is piling up debt.

People will see a tax credit April 1st.

Says his plan won't work if banks won't lend money. Then he talks about people fears again.

Talks about a loan program that will make it easier to get loans. Must start lending money to people.

Says that they will need more money. Also says that if not then it will be worse than of is now.

Says his job is to govern with responsibility.

Says that eventually our economy will recover.

Industry needs to be kept here
Says wants plan to cap carbon emissions.

North Korea Missile Test, An International Crisis

North Korea is planning to test a missile, within the next three weeks, that is capable of reaching the continental United States. The Taepodong 2 missile is also capable of carrying nuclear weapons.

The last time the Taepodong 2 was tested, in 2006, it fell into the ocean shortly upon launch. For North Korea, this test would mark a milestone if successfully carried out as it has never achieved its maximum range, let alone be successfully tested.

A senior US Defense official, reported to FOX News, “They appear to be serious. This is no bluff.” Also saying, “It could look like an attack on the US, but it won't be.”

Serious or not, The US Navy is taking them seriously as they have put their Aegis radar anti-missile defense system on alert. Their intelligence is seeing the North Koreans move components for the missile launch into place over recent days in North East Korea.

This may seem as a publicity stunt to some, even as a US analyst reports the North Koreans seem to have noticed the world's response, or lack there of, to the recent launch of an Iranian satellite – and wanting to “join the club.”

This is a serious matter, either way you look at it. The US Administration will be sure to keep their eyes on it, as well as the Navy will be watching and waiting for the cue to intercept the missiles.

We Surround Them, Glenn Beck's Call To Serve

Recently, Glenn Beck posed a question that isn't so alarming in itself, but it was posed to see just how alarmed Americans are and how willing they are to act and be heard.

Do you watch the direction that America is being taken in and feel powerless to stop it?

That is one of the problems that plagues many people, in that they do feel powerless. They feel that their voice will never be heard, and that their country is being stolen from them. They feel that there is nothing they can do about it.

Glenn Beck, like many people, feels the same way. That is why he asked this question. But, you see, that isn't all. He wants to do something about it. He wants to know from the people what they think. So, he came up with what he calls “The Nine Principles.”

1.America is good.
2.I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3.I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4.The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5.If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6.I have a right to Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7.I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8.It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9.The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.



Then he asked that if you agree with at least seven of these principles, then he wants you to know that you are not alone. It isn't enough to list out these principles and values, just in the hopes of creating a stir. These principles and values encompass what being a conservative is. These fit into each other, not only for the sake of right now, but as history is understood in the founding documents of America. These principles and virtues have helped shape this nation, or for some the lack there of.

In Common Sense, Thomas Paine says, “The elected might never form to themselves an interest separate from the electors.” Trying as it sounds, that is where our nation has been led over the past days, weeks, months if not years. Those elected are seamlessly operating for the benefit of themselves and themselves only, while the electors are screaming to be heard.

Thomas Paine also said, “The strength of government depends on the happiness of the governed.” And how true that is, not only for his time, but for ours too. Our time shapes tomorrows time, and with the unhappiness of today, it doesn't look all that hopeful based on all the displeasure. Americans are growing more and more frustrated, and are continuing to distance themselves from the elected.

The Great Race Divide

Much has been said about race relations, with many hoping that the issue has been subsided, only to come to a realization that it is still much an issue as it always has. Many would argue that there is no right reason as to why it is still an issue. Others, are still left living, breathing and feeling the issue.

For those left wondering why, time will only tell. After all, those who still feel the effects, say that time is the only thing that will help. Historically speaking, race has long been an issue and will always continue as some look to it as an excuse. Saying that there isn't a proper level of equality, whether it be educational or in a professional setting.

Thomas Paine says, in Common Sense, that "time makes more converts than reason." However, it is reason that may help convert more before time. With reason, we are able to draw conclusions with critical thinking before allowing time to take its course. More important, example has more followers than reason.

Example just may be the tool needed to display reason in order to speed up time. For if it is still accepted to speak negatively, even in something that is thought of as nothing like music, the negative effects of example will grab hold and the ideals of progression will never grab hold. Another term that may be acceptable in place of example would be influence. Some level of influence must be displayed.

The best way to influence at times, is by the bottom up approach. Letting things trickle down, in times of today, haven't worked so well. If the younger generations influence the older generations, their example would do more than simply speed time up, but could stop it in a way.

How would it stop? Simple. By allowing a trickle up approach - all be it if everyone changed- would offer an end to the great race divide that has separated this country for years upon years. After all, it is today youngest generation that will be around for tomorrows youngest generation.

Abortion Torture – The Audacity of Hypocrisy

Newly elected President Barack Obama has recently issued two very controversial executive orders that have some screaming hypocrisy while others are left jumping for joy.

The first controversial executive order was to close the Guantanamo Bay detention camp within a year. While some may argue it isn't controversial on all points, it is what was said that have people in a tizzy. He said they reflected “an understanding that dates back to our Founding Fathers – that we are willing to observe core standards of conduct nut just when it's easy, but also when it's hard.”[1]

This order left human rights advocates hailing the steps taken by Obama, and also when he said, “I can say without exception or equivocation that the United States will not torture.”[2]

Garnering a statement like that, left only one option. That is for the endorsing of interrogations to abide by rules that are so eloquently articulated in the Army Field Manual 2-22.3.[3] This Army Manual is laughed at by some, stating that you couldn't get information out of a child by abiding by the manual. In opposition, President Obama said, “We believe that the Army Field Manual reflects the best judgment of our military; that we can abide by a rule that says we don't torture, but that we can still effectively obtain the intelligence that we need.”[4]

The audacity of hypocrisy does not end there, but only begins. The National Religious Campaign Against Torture, a coalition of 240 religious groups, said that Mr. Obama's statement “allowed the United States to again find its moral bearing.”[5]

Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council shined a glint light on the hypocrisy, saying “Yesterday, President Obama issued executive orders banning the torture of terrorists but today signed an order that exports the torture of unborn children around the world.”[6]

Issuing an executive order offering monetary support to other countries in support of abortion is audacious in and of itself. When the United States is in one of the harshest economic downturns in history, it might be hypocritical of Obama to give money to other nations when he wants to end funding to some government programs.

In order to move this country to a higher level of “moral bearing,” the idea of stopping the interrogation methods of retrieving information by way of “torture,” must not be accompanied by the order to help fund world-wide abortions. This level of hypocrisy is not conducive to the standards and conduct of our Founding Fathers.

Maybe President Barack Obama would understand his hypocrisy if an Al-Qaeda tape of a pregnant female U.S. soldier being tortured for information by violently ripping out the child she carries by way of abortion.

Presidents BlackBerry A Hackers Delight

President Barack Obama was granted the use of a new BlackBerry that would allow him to remain in contact with select family and personnel, but will also test the will of hackers world-wide.

As a small victory, President Obama is clinging to his new BlackBerry. Presidents in the past, have not been granted this privilege, even not using e-mail for it could be subpoenaed.



However, the true test is the security that has been encrypted into this phone to ensure its super-secure abilities.

Telecom analyst Roger Entner told the International Herald Tribune, "The moment it becomes known that Barack Obama uses his BlackBerry, you know that a significant share of Russia's signal intelligence and China's signal intelligence and cyber intelligence budgets will be targeted to break it."

This will not be limited to nations, friend or foe, but will be sought after by hackers world-wide to get some piece of information from the President.

N. Korea May Give Up Nukes in Exchange for Ties With U.S.

With the inauguration of now President Barack Obama, North Korea is now taking a position that it would give up nuclear weapons.

North Korea is taking a different stance on its denuclearization now that they will be working with the Obama Administration. N. Korea says that they would be willing to give up their nuclear weapons, in exchange for diplomatic ties and economic assistance from the United States.

During a Senate confirmation hearing, Hillary Clinton said that one goal would be to end the N. Korean nuclear program.

Differing from the Bush Administration, President Obama favors a more direct approach versus a regime change. A regime that the people of North Korea are quite comfortable with.

N. Korea is still waiting to see the position newly sworn in President Barack Obama will take.

N. Korea Talks of 'Confrontational Posture' at S. Korea

After North Korea issued a statement offering “an all-out confrontational posture,” South Korea has placed its military on alert.

Strained talks have plagued the Korean peninsula for many years, and they may now have reached a boiling point. According to Pyongyang, this situation is provoked by Seoul over hard-line policies that South Korean President Lee Myung-bak has implemented since taking office last year.

Cheong Seong-chang, senior researcher at the Sejong Institute, said “It really is in a desperate situation right now, and if it goies over the top, it really may try to take some sort of military action, especially with its leader Kim Jong-il getting ready to succeed his throne.”

Some experts believe this is targeted at the incoming Administration to urge Washington to normalize bilateral ties.

This comes as American nuclear experts say that Pyongyang has “weaponized” 67.8 pounds of plutonium. This has the capability to produce up to five warheads, dependent upon the grae of plutonium.

If true, it could put an end to the six-party negotiations that began in 2003. The negotiations, which included South Korean, China, Japan, the U.S. And Russia, have continued to be aimed at ending the nuclear program of North Korea.

The Imagination of a Conservative Mind

A conservative mind is always at work, whether in deep intense thought or in great imagination. In a sense, one must understand their intensity of thought by using an imagination.

First, it might help in order to define imagination. Imagination can be defined as a process of forming mental images that are not present at the time. It is a process of thought, that over time, can be allowed to solve problems.

An imagination has helped people in times of need. It has also helped form a nation. That nation being the United States of America. You may ask yourself how that could be.

It was certainly the imagination of our Founding Fathers, as they would not have taken the risk without taking time to imagine a place on Earth that would offer such prosperity and growth. The freedoms this nation has enjoyed since its inception, owe itself to an imagination.

These Fathers imagined what it would be like to live where all would be separate and equal, all endowed with Rights of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. Their imagination led to a complete thought process.

The power of an imagination must be harnessed as a conservative. This must lead to a thought process to bring to increase what some refer to as “conservatives in exile.”

Conservatives are not in exile, just consumed with thoughts. Now is the time to express those thoughts.

Obama's 'Whistle-Stop' Tour Warns of Challenges

While on his 'Whistle-Stop' tour, Obama addresses people along the same path Abraham Lincoln took, to voice challenges that his administration would face.

Historic in its own right, the path to the inauguration of Barack Obama echoes much the same path and content as that of President Abraham Lincoln. With a train ride to Washington D.C., to the very bible that Lincoln was sworn in on, Obama looks to mimic Lincoln in as many ways as he sees fit. Even to rhetorical quotes of the past, Obama reminds that:

“They were willing to put all they were and all they had on the line – their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor – for a set of ideals that continue to light the world: That we are equal. That our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness come not from our laws, but from our maker. And that a government of, by, and for the people can endure.”


The challenges Obama warns that the people must endure are that we will continue to face a troubled economy, and that we are still fighting two wars – one in Afghanistan, the other in Iraq that he plans to draw down and begin bringing troops home in the masses. As the country faces these huge challenges, the incoming White House press secretary says that all won't be taken care of in week one or even month one. This comes as Obama says while in Philadelphia, “our problems may be new, what is required to overcome them is not.”

One problem he referenced was the already devastated economy. And, along with Congress, Obama is already working tirelessly on the passing of a gargantuan stimulus package that would cost $825 billion or more.

In a Fox News report, some goals Obama would like to have appear in the bill would include:

-Doubling renewable energy production ($8 billion).

-Making public buildings more energy-efficient ($31 billion).

-Bringing high-speed Internet service to more communities and rural areas ($6 billion).

-Extending health care subsidies for the recently unemployed under the COBRA program, and for former Medicaid recipients under programs such as TMA, or transitional medical assistance ($39 billion).

-Extending supplemental grants for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families ($2.5 billion).

As Obama laid out these goals, incoming White House chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, said “we have got to invest in things that work in a different way.”

An International Crisis? - Part 2

During the U.S. election process, Joe Biden made that statement that President-elect Barack Obama would be tested with an international crisis, opening the door for nations to cause strife throughout the world. In time since that comment, Israel was forced to defend themselves against radical terrorists and Russia closed off gas lines that transported vital gas to other countries. However, there have been some – including China, North Korea and Iran – who have not begun their tests.

For many years, Iran has been wanting to be a part of the elite who are armed with a nuclear arsenal. With holding a high level of influence in the Middle East, it would come as no surprise that a nuclear armed Iran would quiet the numerous tensions in the area. So, one would then ask how could they quiet tensions.

At YaleGlobal, Arch Roberts Jr. offers an answer in saying[1]:

The model Iran may follow is China, which pursues a policy best described by Jeffrey Lewis and others as “minimum deterrence.” Apart from fielding the largest army in the world, China maintains perhaps 200 nuclear weapons and declares a no-first-use policy. China enjoys a level of respect and consideration Iran's leaders have never enjoyed, but to which the logically aspire.


Certainly this concept of “minimum deterrence” could be Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmedinejad's agenda for his country. As proud and as ancient the nation of Iran is, they have continued to be a subject of Western meddling.[2] In so much that, during the election process, Obama made clear he would be willing to negotiate without preconditions with the Iranian government over its nuclear ambitions.[3] Certainly, this communication would be an understanding that a nuclear possessing Iran would be to avoid conflict through deterrence.

As far as communication to this point, Iran has been able to communicate one thing: They are within 6 months to a year from obtaining enough enriched uranium for nuclear weaponry.[4]

How has Iran obtained fuel for their uranium enrichment program?

Mr. Roberts at YaleGlobal says[5]:

The fuel for its first nuclear reactor at Bushehr [was] provided by Russia, with a requirement that spent fuel, full of weapons-usable plutonium, will be returned to Russia. Plans for future reactor construction are well in the distance. So the non-bomb uranium Iran has produced to date has no purpose besides that of a nuclear “breakout” option: kick out the inspectors, run the uranium through the centrifuges several more times, work on missiles and other delivery means, and finish up with a couple of bombs.


With Iran diligently working toward acquiring enough enriched uranium, and a newly elected Barack Obama, communication lines seem more important than ever before. As Iran looks to be the most important problem the Administration faces, the people of Iran are communicating one thing: They want international integration rather than isolation.[6]

As the culture of Iran feels threatened by globalization, one way to open talks with Iran would be to provide external assistance to drive reform internally.[7] Diplomatically speaking, this approach would put much needed pressure on Iran from within. As Reagan was influential in bringing down the wall, Obama could bring a voice to the people of Iran that they have never experienced before. Iranians need greater opportunity to interact with the international community, as history has shown that people-to-people exchanges have served as the backbone of the promotion of democracy.[8]

If Iran was to adopt a more democratic society, its influential stance in the Middle East would be heightened beyond measure and would be on a more equal playing field with larger nations such as Russia, China and the United States. These nations have gained super status, not by making unattainable sanctions, but by taking a step-by-step approach. By attaining a higher position, Iran must also adopt a give-and-take approach.

In a give-and-take step-by-step take on things, this is not by any means an answer to all the problems that Iran and the U.S. may encounter, but a more diplomatic way of things. Far too many people forget that the people of Iran are the ones affected. A major level of success for the incoming Administration, like the Reagan Administration, must take firm but diplomatic approach.

Style of Attack in Mumbai Mob-like

As the phone transcripts of the attacks in Mumbai are released, it offers grim reality of a mob-like movie hit as instructions ring loud on both ends.

The Pakistani-based militant group, Lashkar-e-Taiba, directed the mob-like attack that left some 164 dead in the wake of their attack. Lasting nearly 3 days, the attackers used several mobile phones, including those that belonged to hostages, to stay in contact with their “handler.”

According to Indian authorities, they began to intercept calls that came from not only inside the hotel, but also inside the Jewish center where six Jewish persons were outed. Some interception was done via the Internet, as it was one way the handler routed their calls.

The following are reports of conversation between the gunmen and the handler(s) as reported by The AP:

“There are three ministers and one secretary of the cabinet in your hotel. We don't know in which room,” the handler told a gunman inside the Taj Mahal hotel at 3:10 am on the first night of the attack.

“Oh! That is good news. It is icing on the cake!” the gunman said.


While in the Jewish center, as directed by the handler, the message was “If you are still threatened, then don't saddle yourself with the burden of the hostages. Immediately kill them.”

As the handlers seemed to spur more attacks, citing to “be strong in the name of Allah,” they later instructed them to keep fighting as it “is a matter of prestige of Islam.”

However, the most disturbing realization the attackers were not acting alone was when the handler said during the attacks, “Keep your phone switched on so that we can hear the gunfire.”

Israel Pressured To Stop Assault by U.N.

As civilian deaths rise by Israeli attacks on Hamas, the United Nations continues to put pressure on Israel to halt further attacks and reach ceasefire agreement.

Foreign ministers are still continuing to call for an immediate ceasefire to put an end to the escalating 11-day attack on Hamas.

As drafts are proposed, and criticized, nations are still hard pressed to resolve this war. Most notably is a proposal by Egypt that is currently backed by France and various European powers. This proposal would offer and immediate ceasefire and put talks on the table that would cause Hamas to stop their rocket attacks and put an end to the tunnel-smuggling of more weapons.

Reuters reports:

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and French President Nicolas Sarkozy made the move at a joint news conference. [However] There was no immediate response from Israel or from Hamas.


This comes as the fourth day of a ground assault, now making 11 days of fighting, has deaths reaching over 600 and those wounded to more than 2,700.

Hub of Hollywood Conservatives Now Have Outlet

It is well known that most of those in Hollywood are more Liberal leaning than they are Conservative, but with the introduction of a new hub may start to change how Hollywood is viewed.

Andrew Breitbart, founder of Breitbart.com, is no stranger to Internet surfing conservatives looking for news, and thanks to Andrew do they now have a new message to be introduced to.

This new endeavor by Breitbart will be introduced on Jan. 6. “Big Hollywood” will be a place for conservative celebrities and industry-insiders can voice their view on Hollywood politics. Offering discussion on various topics including reviews to politics, this is certainly to shed some light on the other side of the lawn.

Breitbart says, “Our goal is to create an atmosphere of tolerance – something that does not exist in this town.”

Fox News reports:

Breitbart has invited a number of conservative politicians, commentators and journalists to write regularly about the cult of celebrity, liberalism in popular culture, and politics.

But Breitbart says the goal of Big Hollywood is not to “out” conservative celebrities, and he will not pressure celebrities to jump into the fray. He says conservative celebs who aren't comfortable will full transparency will be allowed to write under and alias.


As Big Hollywood launches, there is somewhat a level of fear and trepidation among conservative celebrities. Also, some are worried that there will be a literal blacklist and pressure will increase in order for them to stay quiet.

Military Only Inaugural Ball To Be Hosted By Obama

With numerous events and parties planned for the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama, one inaugural ball will be held only for military personnel.

In a statement released by the vacationing Obama in Hawaii, he said “It is a privilege to honor our men and women in uniform during our inaugural festivities by continuing the tradition of he Commander in Chief's Ball. Our troops represent the best America has to offer, and without their dedication and sacrifice we would not be able to enjoy the freedoms that we are coming together to celebrate on Jan. 20.”

The event will be held at the National Building Museum in Washington, and officials say that the offered tickets will be free.

Of those who will be in attendance will be mostly enlisted personnel and junior officers accompanied by their spouses. Others will be those active with the National Guard and National Guard Reserve members, along with a guest list of those injured in combat actions and families of those killed in combat.

This ball is one of 10 official balls Obama and Michelle are scheduled to attend.

President George W. Bush was the first to host such an event to honor specifically those in uniform.
